A few years ago, my original Nintendo system ceased to function. I managed to find one that worked at an EB Games and bought it for next to nothing. There’s nothing like kickin’ it old school with the first Mario trilogy.
Today, I stumbled upon the following video and memories of blowing into my game cartridges came flooding back. Words cannot describe the flat-out coolness of this self-made coffee table.
Anyone who’s ever played a hockey videogame knows that they’re somewhat unrealistic in certain areas. The goalies never get knocked over, pucks rarely go in off deflections, shots hit the post frequently, etc. Last night, Evengi Malkin gave us a moment that’s akin to what so many gamers have experienced over the years. For once the real world stole a page from the virtual world.
Just as I thought the Obama Girl phenomenon had ran out of momentum, she goes and does this. Absolutely BRILLIANT. I have no idea who this Senator Gravel guy is, but he’s certainly got my attention now. What a gutsy display. The other candidates should take note and adopt a next generation sense of humor.
This couch has lasted 20 years despite being abused on more than one occasion. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and see how those few seconds at the head of every episode have evolved over time.
About a month ago, the director and one of the stars of Step Up challenged Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux to “The Biggest Online Dance Battle In YouTube History”. Things got interesting when the two girls responded with a rather weak rendition of Justin Timberlake’s 4 Minutes. But it’s obvious who holds the lead when you see the following video that the Step Up team released just days ago. Watch out for the surprise celebrities. Epic. Just epic.
The future is now, people. Dance offs are waged through ones and zeroes.
While Iron Man does big numbers for the next little while, our old friend Batman is waiting in the wings. Click HERE for the recently released brand new trailer for The Dark Knight. I really hope we get to see a glimpse of Harvey Dent’s metamorphosis into Two-Face. A purple Tommy Lee Jones won’t cut it this time around.
On the surface Iron Man and Batman may seem very similar given their background. The following video will help distinguish these comic book legends apart.
Ever hear of Real Simple Syndication? Well, I must admit even though it’s been around for a long while, I didn’t really comprehend it until I took an Internet Technologies class a few months ago. Now, whenever someone asks me to explain it I always stumble over myself trying to over simplify it. Here’s a nice little video that lays it all out for those of you out there that aren’t super techno-savvy. It’ll make your internet experience a more pleasant ride.
Last night brought the moment I’ve been dreading ever since I climbed back on board the American Idol wagon. Brooke White got tossed despite being the most charismatic of the final five contestants.
The bottom two were both girls this week, proving once again that the 12 year old girls out there are likely voting for their crushes. The goodbye was emotional as she fought off tears during her swan song. Even though she’s out, I still hold out hope that this is not the last time this girl will be in the limelight.
Kelly Pickler came in 6th place in season 5 and continues to be a presence in the media. Also, take into account that American Idol winners don’t always go on to be great successes in the real and more discerning industry. Given the fact that the record contract that awaits the ultimate winner is heavily weighted towards the record company, the elimination is almost a blessing for Brooke. She’ll get a much better deal and retain more creative control because of it.
Now to pick up the pieces. David Archuleta doesn’t not look like a star nor does he carry himself like a star. Even though Jason Castro has cool hair, he doesn’t have what it takes to garner broad appeal. Which leaves Syesha Mercado and David Cook as the final two. Syesha is a talented singer but she doesn’t have that “it” factor that David has displayed on a consistent basis throughout the season. So there you have it. David Cook is season 7’s American Idol.
